BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 25 (Xinhua) -- A total of 32 Brunei young adults in Belait district took part in a traditional music workshop recently, local media reported.

According to the local daily, Borneo Bulletin, the workshop was an opportunity to foster the next generation of traditional music players, nurturing their musical abilities and skills, so that they can carry with them the culture and heritage of the nation through iconic traditional musical instruments, said Legislative Council member Mohammad Abdullah.

He said the workshop offered the participants the chance to learn and appreciate iconic rhythms and melodies played on instruments.

The workshop aimed to introduce young participants to traditional musical instruments, particularly those connected to the Brunei ethnic Dusun community.
