BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 150 Brunei secondary school students took part in the Brunei AIDS Council's HIV Awareness Program for Peers and Youth (HAPPY) on Saturday, local media reported on Monday.

According to local daily Borneo Bulletin, HAPPY is an awareness program to enhance students' knowledge on how the virus spreads and how it can be prevented.

HAPPY project coordinator Siti Kailene briefed the students on how HIV transmission occurs, helping to dispel common myths and misconceptions that young people often encounter.

HAPPY is a youth-led project raising HIV awareness, including teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease. It uses interactive audio-visual content and activities, with messages tailored to local contexts.
