KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim unveiled his cabinet on Friday, naming two deputy prime ministers in an effort to better represent both halves of the country.

In a televised speech, Anwar said he himself will assume the finance minister's portfolio, a post which he previously held from 1991 to 1998.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is president of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO), is one of the deputy prime ministers, while Fadillah Yusof who hails from the northern Borneo state of Sarawak is the other deputy prime minister. Anwar had previously pledged to give greater representation to the northern Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak.
