DHAKA -- Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated industrial establishments in several economic zones virtually from her official Ganabhaban residence here on Sunday.

TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Sunday evening affirmed his plan to appoint Takeaki Matsumoto, former foreign minister, as the country's new internal affairs minister.

KATHMANDU -- Nepalis went to the polls on Sunday morning for elections to the House of Representatives of the federal parliament and seven provincial assemblies.

Voters were seen lining up at some polling stations as the voting began at 7:00 a.m. local time. About 17.988 million voters are eligible to elect 275 members to the lower house and 550 members to the seven provincial assemblies. (Nepal-General Elections)

KUALA LUMPUR -- No single party or political coalition gained simple majority in Malaysia's 15th general election, according to the results released early Sunday on the website of the country's election commission (EC).

Of the major political coalitions contesting the 220 seats in the lower house of the parliament, Pakatan Harapan won 82, Perikatan Nasional won 73, Barisan Nasional won 30, and GPS, the group of parties from the northern Borneo state of Sarawak, won 22, according to the EC. (Malaysia-Election)
