KUWAIT CITY, May 10 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti emir on Tuesday issued an order accepting the resignation of the government, the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
The order instructed the government to act as a caretaker until a new cabinet is formed, KUNA said.
The National Assembly, legislative authority of Kuwait, will be informed of the resignation, it added.
On April 5, the Kuwaiti government submitted its resignation to Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
On Nov. 23, 2021, the crown prince issued an order on behalf of the emir to appoint Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as prime minister and assign him to form a government.
On Dec. 28, 2021, Kuwait formed a new government led by Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
