KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia reported four new COVID-19 infections without local transmission, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday, bringing the national total to 8,729.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press briefing that all four of the new cases are imported.

Another four cases have been released, bringing the total cured and discharged to 8,524 or 97.7 percent of all cases.

Of the remaining 83 active cases, six are being held in intensive care and two of those are in need of assisted breathing.

No new deaths had been reported, leaving the total deaths at 122.
