Easyjet has been ordered to a French court for allegedly breaking French labour laws.

French officials have accused the airline of failing to declare 170 staff employed at Paris Orly airport between 2003 and 2006.

The airline may have to pay up 10 million euros in unpaid social security contributions if it is found negligent.

Easyjet has argued that because staff members were hired under British contracts, they were not subject to French rules.

The company only changed to issuing French contracts in 2007.
