The use of the word 'Allah' is exclusive to Muslims in Malaysia, a senior government official Tuesday told representatives of foreign missions here while briefing them on attacks on churches.
'They wanted a better understanding of how the word 'Allah' is applied in Malaysia in comparison with, say, Indonesia. We explained why in some countries it is used across the board while in other landscapes like Malaysia, it is exclusive to Islam,' said home ministry secretary-general Mahmood Adam.
The foreign representatives were told that comparing the use of the word 'Allah' here and in other countries was akin to comparing apples with oranges, NST online, website of the New Straits times reported.
'We have to be fair... (we have to) compare apples with apples and oranges with oranges,' he said at a press conference after the briefing.
In an hour-long briefing attended by 96 representatives of the missions, Mahmood assured that the government was handling with urgency the incidents related to the use of the word 'Allah' by non-Muslims.
Eight churches have been attacked with fireballs and Molotov cocktails over the past week since a high court ruled in favour of a Catholic church-run magazine, Herald, to use the word 'Allah' on its masthead.
Home Minister Hishamuddin Hussein told mediapersons that some people suspected to have indulged in arson have been identified.

the remark of this stupid home ministry secretary-general Mahmood Adam is really shoe how backward his people are, comparing apple to orange? why then malaysia so angry when in france the goverment prohibit bhurqas for muslim women? why didn’t he compare france and other muslim world like apple and orange? how can this stupid person like him become a minister? this also shows that islam always asking tolerance from other religion but never shoe tolerance to others, by the way, Allah word already exist before islam exist, how can you explain Allah exclusive for islam, while at that time christian the first one used that word? and this is just show to the world that MALAYSIA IS DISCRIMINATING MINORITY AND APPARTHEID IS REALLY EXIST IN THIS COUNTRY,

Apples are not oranges.....Yes Sir they are not similar
Apples are apples and oranges are oranges sir. There could never be any dispute over this except that they can be classified as fruits. But can one say Allah, God, Yahweh etc are not same?
The Minister perceives it that way so it seems. Malaysian Malay’s Allah is different from Indonesian Muslims' Allah or Mid-Eastern Muslim’s Allah ? I wonder how many Allah are there? Would the Malaysian Government be contemplating initiating Judicial procedures to prohibit the Non-Muslims from using the world Allah for GOD who resides beyond the borders off Malaysia? Laws, after all is to be applied universally and obeyed by one and all. I suggest the Minister lodge a complaint to the International Court Of Justice over this matter. Dont you people realize, this is a ploy by UMNO to whip up Malay ground support and championing their course so as to reclaim the support they have lost in the last General Election? I say this, much ado about nothing, except some political gains for UMNO.

Don't blame everyone, blame the few loosers.
This is all about politic. This is being used to wipe up frenzy amongst common people. The real solution is to educate the mass about the word Allah, and what it means to several other relilgion. In fact it can be used to unite the people. Alas, this is not what they want.

The A word
Does this mean that non-Muslims in Malaysia will never be able to utter the A word again. What about the anthems which refer to A. Are there any other words that are unmentionable. how about Isa or Adam, Mary etc which also appears in the Koran, and before that in the Bible.sorry can we mention the K word.the only way is to pass a law banning the use of words by non muslims.

Allah predates Islam in Arabic language
The word Allah was used by Arabs and Jews a thousand years or more before the origin of Islam. Today the Christians in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria etc use the word Allah alongside their fellow Muslim citizens without any conflict.So what is this nonsense about apples and oranges. It seems only here in Malaysia we have these pervert fanatics putting a bigotry twist to everything. Last year they started the nonsense controversy that Yoga is forbidden in Islam. Now this !

Demolision of places of worship
I cannot find any reason why anyone for any reason demolish or even damage Churches and other places of worship.
Thousands of Hindu temples were destroyed when Islam invaded India. Godly images were burried under steps to be tramped. Unfortunately now both Hindu and Muslim mobs damage each other’s places of worship. In Malaysia many Hindu temples were demolished. Now Churches are attacked. It is a sin to destroy any place of worship or undermine or provoke any religious sentiments that is not your own. It is also a SIN for anyone to do nothing to stop such actions. Like sucide bomming, destroying others' place of worship will destroy your own.

Allah not in Rukun Negara
In an interview by the media recently Tun Mahathir said that Allah is the Muslim God and Tuhan is the Christian God. Why make the two different? Our Muslim friends still don’t know that the Allah is also the Christian God, the God of Moses, Abraham, Isak (Nabi Musa, Nabi Ibrahim, Nabi Isak) and so forth. It is the God Christian God that the Muslims is worshiping. The Koran says that Nabi Mohd is the last prophet. This means that all the prophets from the beginning until Bahaulah worship the same God. I also wonder some MUlsims in M’sia so angry that Allah is being used by non.Muslim, but they do’t realise that the God stated in the Rukun Negara is the Christian God (Tuhan) said by Mahathir, ie. Kepercayaan kepada TUHAN, NOT Allah.

BACKWARD RACIST NATION
Malay muslims seem digging their own problems by their racist and oppresive attitude to the minority. Malaysia is the only developing nation that still enggaging apartheid policy in this world. the United Nation and Human Right Groups now is studying this appartheid case that is still exist in Malaysia that give extremely benefit to the Malay muslim in the expense of the minority. civilized world cannot accept racism and discrimination for any reasons. now the Malay muslims beginning their pressure to the religion of the minority. this kind of attitude will strained the relationship of malaysia with the non muslims country and put the invesment and tourism in jeopardy. all of us do not like to see this hard work of malaysia as a nation destroyed by malay muslims fanatism. malay muslim must wake up, and understand that they do not have that special right to oppressed and commited apartheid for whatever the reasons, and that every race there in malaysia is malaysian, and they all have the same right just like the malay. if the malay muslims think they can do what they want, then they will be realized soon that they are going in a sorry state if they are against the world, not only the minority.

Just a WORD and nothing more...
Now that the word 'Allah' is exclusive to Muslims in Malaysia, I am sure that everything will be back to normalcy. What we had learn from this incident is that the other religion is tolerance, so what does the latter gain? However damage had been done and the whole world can attest to who is the oppressor. My opinion is that after all it is only a WORD and nothing more...

There is nothing racial in this word.
It is an arabic word for God. In Bahasa Malaysia it is Tuhan. Hence according to bible:
Jesus son of God is in English bible;
Jesus son Tuhan is in Bahasa Malaysia bible;
Jesus son of Allah is in Arabic bible.

Lets be more Human
Whats wrong if the words Tuhan / yang maha mulia or creat some other words in replacement off Allah. Its common knowledge the the muslims address god as
allah , and we in the media/bang and the malays commonly use alah ku akhbar.Lets be more human.
