Malaysia still has room for Bangladeshi workers
Malaysia News.Net Monday 30th November, 2009 (ANI)
Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), Nov.30 : Malaysia's freeze on the intake of Bangladeshi workers will stay despite a request from Dhaka for a review of the decision, said the country's Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
Najib conveyed this to his counterpart Sheikh Hasina Wajed during their talks on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2009 here on Saturday.
Speaking to Malaysian journalists at the end of Day Two of the conference, he said: "I explained to her that we decided on the freeze to prevent unscru pulous agents from exploiting the workers."
According to The Star, it was a cordial meeting.
According to Najib, the Bangladeshi side understood that in the current econo mic climate, it would be difficult for Malaysia to increase the number of workers from Bangladesh.
The Cabinet decided to freeze the intake of Bangladeshi workers in October 2007, the second time such a decision was made after the first in 1999. Email this story to a friend

Malaysia still has room for Bangladeshi workers
There are far too many foreign workers in Malaysia at the moment. Do we really need their services? I think the foreign workers agents are more interested in making fast monies out of this syndicate. They pay to come to our country and after landing in the country they were left on their own.

bangladesh workers
theUnlike Indian Labourers the banglas have no language withwhich they can communicate. The Indian labourers speak tamil which is understood by their employers ortheir supervisors.
Further being Mohamedans many Malay women fall for them who leave them pregnant and stranded. Inspite of several attempts by the Authorities there has been no stopping them.

Navaratnam knowledge of India is very limited. It appears from what he has written that Indian speak and understand Tamil. What he si unaware of is that Tamil is just on of the many regional languages of India and is spoken in India by a small percentage of the Indian population. It will be ridiculous to assume that Indian labourers can communicate with their employers. Also, Tamil is not understood by most employers.
Bangladeshis are not Mohamedans. Who are Mohamedans, may I ask? Bangladeshis are Muslims and their religion is Islam and this country is a Muslim majority country. It will b only natural to bring in Muslims rather than Tamil Hindus. Religion plays a central role in the lives of Muslims.
It is true that some Bangladeshi labourers have have done evil and immoral things with Malaysian women. Such people shoud be accorded the Syriah punishment in accrdance to Muslim law. Let us not disgrace and defame an entire nation of 170 million people based on what some amongst them have done.

Navaratnam gave a real practical argument.
Michael2009 gave a very racist argument.
Certainly Tamil speaking labour will be better than Hindi speaking labour for the simple reason that more in Malysia speak Tamil although there is no difference between any language speaking Indians.
Just for general knowledge, Mohamedans is a general term for muslims/islam/suni/shiat etc etc.
