BA CEO in no mood for compromise with staff
Malaysia News.Net Monday 23rd November, 2009
The British Airways chief executive, Willie Walsh, has warned cabin crews they can not expect any compromise in his cost-cutting measures.
Walsh has told the Financial Times that voluntary redundancies and other measures need to take place if the airline is to survive.
He said on Monday that he would not compromise on cost-cutting measures ahead of a threatened strike next month.
He said cuts of at least 214 million pounds would have to take place and there would be no last-minute settlement with flight attendants.
BA Unions last week started balloting more than 12,000 staff on a strike that could take place before the Christmas holiday season. Email this story to a friend

BA staff can expect no compromise from Walsh
I LIKE MANY OF MY FELLOW CREW MEMBERS ARE JUST NOT PREPARED TO ACCEPT IMPOSITION AND WE WILL STRIKE. I WOULD PREFER TO SEE BA GO UNDER THAN ACCEPT THE LEVEL OF CHANGE THAT MR WALSH INTENDS. BA CREW ARE UP FOR THE FIGHT.
