Political positions revealed in Zimbabwe talks

Malaysia News.Net
Wednesday 6th August, 2008

The governing ZANU-PF party in Zimbabwe and the opposition MDC party have called on their supporters to stop political violence.

The call suggests progress is being made in the negotiations which are taking place currently between the two sides.

In South Africa, where the meetings are taking place, there has been speculation that a draft agreement has already been prepared by the parties to make opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai the ruling prime minister while President Robert Mugabe would take on a ceremonial role to reflect his role as founder of the country.

The agreement is also said to stipulate that Mr Mugabe and his closest colleagues would be granted immunity from criminal proceedings.

Political positions revealed in Zimbabwe talks

It never ceases to amaze how criminals who run countries killing the populace , starving the citizens and living in luxury think that they are entitled to immunity from procsecution.

Nothing more than common crimonals in my opinion!!!

Skyrocket halted

It would seem that the last dregs of power are always spent by failing despots to protect their backside.

I think that Tsvangirai should sign whatever Mugabe wants, to get some power, then he can deny that he signed any such deal and prosecute Mugabe to the full extent of the law.

Mugabe must just go

What immunity does he want? Mugabe has ruined the country and has caused many deaths. He has breached so many law statutes and must face the music. He must leave office now. We are sick and tired of him. “Chihurumende chembavha.....Bvisa, Mugabe....kuChikurubhi..Hezvoko.....Bhwa.. Chinja..Maitiro..Maitiro..Chinja"

Why ask for an amnesty if you are innocent?

Mugabe has for many years been denying that there was no rule of law in Zimbabwe and has been at the helm of one of the most criminal government in Southern Africa. So much killing, so much corruption. Now if he believes in his principles as right, just and human, why is he or his cronnies asking for an amnesty - what amnesty? Are his eyes now open to see how criminal he was? Does he really deserve to be father to a free Zimbabwe - a father who kills his own children for no reason but choice of governance? No, no, I say no to an amnesty. Let the law take its course unhindered. We are tired of such leaders in Africa who refuse to be accountable for their evil governance.

Mugabe i None Runer

Whats the need for us to keep a Vintage that let the whole populace down. Mugabe must be sent to a Museum Alive so that our children may know the animal that has made us fail to buy them the goodies that we once enjoyed. The Junta should be hanged where Nehanda was hanged, at least maybe vadzimu vangava regerera.
